Temple Visit

Hsi Fang Temple is open from Tues. to Sun., 10am to 5pm. Everyone is welcome to visit us. Any group or individuals that needs guided tour, advance registration is needed.

Hsi Fang Temple welcomes colleges, school groups or individuals to visit the temple and the Buddha’s Light Bookstore. An introduction to Buddhism and meditation can be arranged as part of a scheduled temple visit. A visit normally lasts for 45 minutes to an hour. The tour will be in English or Chinese upon request and it is free of charge. Donation is always welcome!
If there’s any special request to invite venerable from the temple to go to the campus or school to introduce Buddhism or meditation, please email us sandiego@ibps.org.


Please make a reservation at least one week in advance. Temple visits can be arranged from Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00am to 5:00pm. For more details in making an appointment for a tour.

Before your visit, please take note of the following guidelines:

    1. 1. Smoking is prohibited throughout the temple and temple grounds.
    1. 2. Photos can be taken only for school assignments and for private use.
    1. 3. Please acquire permission from the Venerable at the temple (monastic) if you would like to take a video recording.
    1. 4. Commercial photography is not allowed in temple premises. For making a Buddhist related documentary, please email to sandiego@ibps.org the details and arrangements.
    1. 5. Please DO NOT bring meat or any kind or alcohol into the temple premises.
    1. 6. Please show respect to the temple and dress appropriately: no sleeveless shirts, short blouses, tank tops, shorts, short skirts or flip-flops.
    1. 7. Please wear socks as one will have to take off shoes when one visits the Buddha Hall. Avoid wearing high boots or other footware that might take a while to take off or put back on.
    1. 8. Parking is available behind the Buddha’s Light Bookstore, which is situated next to the temple. You may enter the parking lot from the back alley of our premises.
