Hsi Fang Temple offers two classes in English, one on the core teachings of the Buddha, and one on meditation practices. We would love to have you join our study group. Everyone is welcome! Classes meet once a week on Saturdays and are held concurrently with a short break in-between. You are welcome to attend one or both. This registration form will enroll you in both classes. Once registered, you will receive an email announcement before each class with a link to a short reading about the topic. Classes are open to new members throughout the year and there are no attendance requirements.
Classes are designed to accommodate beginners through advanced students of Buddhism. They are conducted in a relaxed, interactive format to learn and practice together as a Buddhist sangha (a group that supports one another on a spiritual path.) Topics for 2026 include the Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path, mindfulness, meditation techniques and other Buddhist teachings. During the year, the Temple offers full and half-day meditation retreats and a Triple Gem ceremony. Other Temple events are celebrations of the Buddha’s Birthday, Lunar New Year and an Autumn Full Moon Festival.
